Biography
Vlad (Vlad-Constantin Miriţă) is a young Romanian tenor, born on August the 2nd, 1981 in Targovişte, one of the main residences of the medieval rulers in Romania.
His passion for music guided his steps from his early years, and consequently, in 2000, he graduated the singing classes of the Arts School "Octav Enigarescu" in his native town.
It didn't take too long until he showed his talent to the Romanian public and in 2002 he won the 1st Prize at Mamaia pop festival (the most popular national music festival in Romania), performing a modern song played in a classical way (he became the first Romanian classical-crossover singer).
Achievements:
- In 2010 the tradition will continue: more "Asculta, Simte, DescOPERA!" concerts will take place and hopefully more people will benefit from the funds raised by the Charity Association.
- Angela Gheorghiu invites him to sing as special guest in her Gala Concerts (Sankt Petersburg, Torre del Lago, Cortona, Days of Bucharest 2009)
- With the Christmas A.S.D. concert occasion is inaugurated the Vlad Mirita Charity Association.
- "Asculta, Simte, DescOPERA!" — The concept is an old idea of Vlad and the conductor Daniel Jinga that has been materialized as a big success on 9th of May 2009. The concert took place in summer theatre in Herastrau Park. The same concept was reedited in the Days of Bucharest Festivities and for Christmas 2009.
- Together with Nico represents Romania to EUROVISION Song Contest in Belgrade (2008)
- Performes the role "Don Jose" in a special production of "The Tragedy of Carmen", a remake of Peter Brook and Marius Constant after Carmen by Bizet, (2007 Sibiu – The European Capital of Culture)
- Obtains a CEE Musiktheater Scholarship (2007)
- Musiktheater Wien Prize, accorded by Ioan Holender (2006)
- Becomes soloist of The National Opera House in Bucharest (2006)
- First Prize at the International Tenor Voices Festival Traian Grozavescu in Lugoj, Romania
- FIDOF Award — the International Pop Festival Slaviansky Bazaar Vitebsk (Belarus, 2004)

One of Vlad's hobbies is watching rally races, where he also intends to participate one day. He loves animals: has 4 dogs and the last entry is a gorgeous Akita Inu puppy. Also, he enjoys horse back riding and soon will buy his own Frisian horse.
